Hurricane preparedness can be fun. That was the theme at Leon County's most recent Citizens' Engagement session about storm season readiness at the Public Safety Complex. Emergency Management Director Kevin Peters became a wacky game show host as audience participants rushed to gather hurricane supplies in a competition called "Bucket Brigade."

"Helping people get prepared, there's nothing that we won't try to help make preparedness fun. And our little game show here at the Citizen Engagement Series is a fun way to really help drive home some serious points about building a disaster kit and being ready, but making it fun."

Other hands-on activities included sessions called "The First of First Responders," "Let's Date Disaster" and "Stop the Bleed."
